A TRIBUTE TO EARTHA MAE KITT (January 17, 1927 – December 25, 2008)

I saw Eartha Kitt in New Faces of 1952 in Chicago... she sang that fabulous
song "Monotonous" in a style that was unique and so sexy. I have been a fan
of hers ever since.

I still can't quite wrap my head around the fact that she's gone... it doesn't compute. It doesn't make any sense. How can she be here, absolutely vital and fiercely alive and doing her thing, and then-- gone?

That picture of Chenoweth and Eartha was taken at BroadwayBarks. I was there that day. Eartha presented the only cat in the "show". She was fabulous. Chenoweth tried to "mount" the great dane she was "showing". Yuck.

When Noah and I went to see The Color Purple, Eartha was waiting at the stage door just like us and I called out to her.
